About Laotian Language
Lao or Laotian is a tonal language, which belongs to Kradai language family. It is also the official language of Laos, and popularly spoken northeast of Thailand as Isan language. Laotian has descended from Tai languages spoken in southern China and northern Vietnam. Laotian is also regarded as second popular language in the ethnic groups scattered in Laos and Isan. Laotian language is written in abugida script.
The language primarily consists of native Lao words, and many dialects, which are mutually intelligible. The correlative has also got many sub-divisions of the dialects that form communion with the intelligible dialects of Laotian language.
