The Mandinka language is also referred to as the Mandingo language and is the language of the Gambia. Mandinka language belongs to the Manding branch of Mande. Latin alphabet and the Arabic alphabet based orthographies are used in Mandinka language widely. This language has two tones: high and low in majority of areas but in the areas like Gambia and Senegal it is a non-tonal language and uses a pitch accent.
