About Tajik Language
Tajik is a variable Persian language spoken Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Afghanistan. The language is spoken by approximately 4.4 million people. In the years prior to 1928, Tajik was written in Perso-Arabic script. Later, from 1928 to 1940, the language was written in Latin alphabet. However, the alphabet was changed to Cyrillic after 1940.
Tajiks converse in eastern dialect of Persian. The Cyrillic variation of language is written in Tajikistan is called Tajiki. Furthermore, the languages of the Persians of Iran and of the Tajiks of central Asia show common ancestry.
